Leadership Kansas Class Visits Hays September 24-26

TOPEKA, KAN. (September 18, 2014) – The Hays area will play host to the 2014 Leadership Kansas class on September 24-26. 

During this, their fifth session of the year, the 39 members of the 2014 Leadership Kansas Program will visit Rooks County Health Center for a panel that focuses on the challenges of providing healthcare in rural Kansas, take a tour of the KSU Agricultural Research Center, and participate in a panel on the future of agriculture.  The class will also visit Fort Hays State University where they will participate in a panel on water in Kansas.

Throughout the course of the six-month regional meetings, the class will continue to engage in discussions with top experts on the key issues facing Kansas. Hays is the fifth of six communities to host the 2014 Leadership Kansas class. Other locations include: the Kansas City Metro area, Garden City, Manhattan/Junction City, Wichita, Topeka, and an optional session in Pittsburg.

Leadership Kansas is one of the oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership programs in the country. Established by the Kansas Chamber in 1979, the program is celebrating its 36th year of educating and motivating Kansas leaders from all four corners of the state. The Leadership Kansas program remains committed to its original mission to inspire persons to maintain involvement in the social, business and political fabric of our Kansas communities. 

Leadership Kansas is accepting nominations for applicants for next year's program which will begin in April of 2015 at www.leadershipkansas.org.
