Kansas Chamber Announces 2015 Annual Dinner Keynote Speaker

October 24, 2014

Topeka, KAN. (October 24, 2014) - The Kansas Chamber is pleased to announce Peggy Noonan, widely admired columnist for The Wall Street Journal, and the best-selling author of eight books on American politics, history and culture, as the 2015 Annual Dinner keynote speaker. Presented by Dillons, a grocery supermarket chain based in Hutchinson, Kansas, and division of The Kroger Company, the Chamber's dinner is the largest annual statewide gathering of business and political leaders in the state.

"We are very pleased to have someone with the national recognition of Peggy Noonan as the keynote speaker for our Annual Dinner," said Kansas Chamber President & CEO Mike O'Neal.  "Mrs. Noonan will offer her practical wisdom and insightful knowledge on American politics and history as well as an inside look at the Reagan legacy. We are confident that Mrs. Noonan will be a speaker whom both our business members and political leaders will appreciate."

Called "the voice of our times" by USA Today, Peggy Noonan is an accomplished and esteemed fixture in American political journalism. A former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and former chief speechwriter for Vice President George H. W. Bush, she is considered one of this century's premier presidential speechwriters. Her political column for the Wall Street Journal was called "indispensable to an understanding of the presidential year," in 2008 by the National Journal and Forbes Magazine called it "principled, perceptive, persuasive, and patriotic." Noonan's essays have also appeared in TIME, Newsweek, The Washington Post and other publications, and she provides frequent political commentary on television. Noonan's most recent best-seller, Patriotic Grace, is a call for more elevated national politics.
