February 25, 2015
TOPEKA, KAN. (February 24, 2015) - The 2015 Kansas Chamber Annual Dinner was another defining event for the statewide business advocacy organization. Held on February 17, the event once again drew a strong attendance by statewide business leaders and legislators.
Security Benefit from Topeka, Kansas, received the Kansas Chamber's 2015 Ad Astra Award, an honor presented to one business each year that exemplifies both business and civic excellence within the state.
"Security Benefit is a top provider of retirement products, serving a full range of wealth segments and distribution channels in the U.S. retirement market. They continuously share their success with the community and are truly one of Kansas' homegrown companies. We are proud to give the Ad Astra award to a company of such a caliber as theirs," said Kansas Chamber President and CEO Mike O'Neal. "The Ad Astra Award is designed to recognize a Kansas business for its unique contribution to the economic health and welfare of our state."
Headlining the Kansas Chamber's Annual Dinner as the keynote speaker was widely admired columnist for The Wall Street Journal, and the best-selling author of eight books on American politics, Peggy Noonan. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins served as the master of ceremonies for the evening.
"The 2015 Annual Dinner again honored everything the Kansas Chamber stands for: free enterprise and a continual improvement of our great state's economic climate for the benefit of every business and citizen. I would like to thank our presenting sponsor, Dillons, and all of our platinum, gold, and corporate sponsors for their generous support of the 2015 Annual Dinner. On behalf of the statewide business community, the Kansas Chamber will continue to work diligently to make our state the best in the nation in which to do business," said O'Neal.
